10:00 AM  Beach Clean-Up
Play your part in keeping Long Island beaches clean.  Join staff and volunteers in
a beach clean up to remove the flotsam and jetsam that are continuously washed
in with the twice daily tides.

11:00 AM Film: Earth Revealed: Ground Water 
On World Water Day, explore the earth’s water table with examples worldwide. Follow
up if you wish with a look at our exhibits which detail the uniqueness of Long
Island’s water table. You may ask questions of our Geologist, George Allgaier
who will be available. (Film: 30 mins.)

12:00 PM  Stream Table Demonstration
Witness the power of moving water by observing our stream table demonstration.
The stream table is an interactive and exciting way to illustrate how water erosion
sculpts the landscape.  Followed by a short hike down to the beach to observe
these land features in nature. 

2:00 PM  Program: “Composting: from nature to nurture.” 
Join in on a nature walk led by retired natural history curator Kathryne Natale to
show how Mother Nature composts with a discussion about the how and why of
composting in the home garden and more. 

3:00 PM  Film: Young Voices on Climate Change
Seven short movies about climate change, science and solutions and kids
making a difference. (45 mins.)
