Transforming the Green Economy: from Disparity to Equity to Sustainability

A look at the existing race and gender demographics comprising the green economy reveals vast race and gender disparities. This talk will discuss the importance of women and people of color’s leadership, mentorship, and training; and will offer examples of successful federal, regional and grassroots initiatives from around the country that promote not just a green but a sustainable economy, and that secure educational and job opportunities for women and people of color.

SF Environment is pleased to host a reception and discussion featuring Dorka Keehn, author of the book Eco Amazons, and Beth Waitkus, a featured Eco Amazon and founder of the Insight Garden Program at San Quentin Prison. Keehn and Waitkus will deliver a talk titled: Transforming the Green Economy: from Disparity to Equity to Sustainability. Further details below.
