Whether it be theatre, dance, music, film or spoken word -we’re looking for something that’s sustainable in either theme or practice. We want to know what your

Artistic Footprint looks like!

Categories:

Youth (Junior and Senior sub categories) and Working Artist

Act NOW! 2013 will start receiving entries in April 2. The competition will close September 1, with winners announced later that month. Performances will be held at The Cultch in East Vancouver in November 2013.

What do we mean by sustainable?

“Sustainable development is development that meets present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”

There are different ways to look at what this word means. We encourage you to find your own definition. What this word brings up for you, what it means to you. It doesn’t necessarily mean ‘green’. Although that is a very important aspect of sustainability that NOW! likes to focus on – it isn’t the be all and end all.

We’re exploring the footprint we leave behind as artists. Our Artistic Footprint. We hope to encourage young people to think about sustainability and to use their creative sides to inspire the people around them. With working artists is where we’re hoping the real change will happen. That working artists get creative about how to change the practice of their art. This is an important opportunity for needed change.

Why Act NOW!?

There’s no better time.
