Every manager, label, band, and music lover knows that the music frontier has changed drastically over the past 10 years with the advent of downloading, new methods of distribution and consumption, and current pop culture trends. How has this new ecosystem affected the way that artist careers are approached from the perspective of independent managers and labels. Has current market shifts changed the way that we view the creative process and our ability to support sustainable careers in music.
 
Eli Wener started in the music business at 15 selling CDs for the cool high school bands.   He has produced and promoted concerts and speaking engagements for Code Live: 2010 Olympics, former Vice President Al Gore, New Forms Festival, Olio Festival, film director Spike Lee, Dan Mangan, Brasstronaut, Hey Ocean, Bikini, Brother Ali, ?uestlove (The Roots) and many more.   Eli is the artist manager for Vancouver based Humans and Toronto based Times Neue Roman   HUMANS www.dashumans.com  TIMES NEUE ROMAN www.timesneueroman.com
 
Rob has been an artist and business owner in the Vancouver scene for many years running the label Boompa (The Belle Game, Small Sins, Woodpigeon, Christopher Smith) and producing video, photography as well as being on the board of the Transmission Music Alliance, Public Records, and most recently, The New Forms Festival. Armed with a mandate to support emerging talent and continue to support Canadian artists, Rob has run Secret Study as a boutique music agency since January of 2010, working with all aspects of live event production, talent buying, and music licensing with clients like Shore 104  FM, The Province of British Columbia, and Cossette.
