Event: Green Wednesdays at Kwantlen

Date:
Wednesday, March 12, 2014 - 19:00 to 21:00
Event Description:

Green Wednesdays is co-hosted by Kwantlen’s School of Horticulture and Green Ideas Network. This monthly series event is now in its 6th year of environmental evenings. Challenging and inspiring award-winning documentaries, spirited dialogue, guest speakers, light refreshments and door prizes. Everyone welcome.

Join us for 2 films tonight; “Forever Plastic” (10 min) produced by local teenager filmmaker/artist Miranda Andersen (http://mirandaandersen.com/) and “Programmed to be Fat?” (45 min).  Both of these topics reveal how modern chemicals in our environment pose threats to our world and health.

Hosted by David Suzuki, “Programmed to be Fat?” explores controversial new science that suggests exposure to man-made chemical, starting in the womb, may be triggering changes to our metabolism that result in life-long weight gain.

Doors open at 6:30 pm. Located in Room 1030, H Bldg. Pay parking in effect.
*Limited seating*. Please register with Betty at 604-599-3348 or email Betty.Cunnin@kpu.ca.
Admission by suggested donation $5.
