Beneath the forest canopy, Stanley Park

DATE: Sunday March 2nd., 2014

Trip leader: David Cook

Registration: Recommended. Call 604-718-6522 or email programs@stanleyparkecology.ca

Duration: Approximately 2 hours.

Description: Because of their small size, many plants and fungi are often overlooked in our local forests. On this walk we’ll learn to identify the species and to recognize the roles of mosses, liverworts, lichens and fungi in the forest of Stanley Park. Be sure to bring a hand lens – if you have one – to see features below the range of the human eye. Hand lenses will be supplied for those who do not have them.
