Tips on video production

Most short self-contained videos are under 7 minutes, include a short tale or story with a profile character, and aim at communicating a key idea or message to the viewer or audience.

The basic equipment you choose is essential to your clip's quality.  You'll need to figure out which brand of standard video camera, professional tripod (important to avoid distracting video-shaking), and light kit will work the best for you.

Our viewers appreciate quality content that has been scanned with an eye for detail.  Most folks write out a semi-script or content diagram to keep their story on-track to help deliver the message they find most important.

Some topic suggestions for submission to Sustainability Television include:  Food Security, Ethical Purchasing, Land-use and Transportation, Air/Climate Issues, Water conservation, Social Justice or Urban Sprawl.  The opportunities for innovative stories have no limits, we look forward to seeing what you come up with!
